Business Attraction Committee Responsibilities/Activities
- Contact Downtown Tinley available property owners/brokers on a quarterly basis. Divide the list by the number of members in the group and plan to reach out to each one via phone, email or in some cases a personal meeting. Committee members should take their list and divide it among the twelve weeks so that the number of calls per month is not too overwhelming.
- Review the commercial inventory summary and survey to determine and create a list of what shops, restaurants and service businesses are missing from the neighborhood. Analyze the recent ESRI Retail Marketplace Profile for Downtown Tinley Park statistical data on the area.
- Call or email target prospects and keeping track of who was contacted and what their response was to avoid reaching out to the same prospect more than once.
- Designate a subcommittee to create the post card and signs that will be placed in the windows of available properties to encourage prospective business owners to contact the downtown.
- Form a subcommittee to plan the broker event.
- Identify spaces appropriate for window art displays. Contact the property owner/broker for permission and reach out to local artists who want to display their work or create something for the site.
