WillyWonkaBenchWhen: Now through October 1
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets

The Village of Tinley Park is holding its 13th annual Benches on the Avenue public art program now through October 1 along Oak Park Avenue from 172nd to 176th streets. This year's theme is "Once Upon a Time … Favorite Children’s Storybooks” and features 20 benches created by both amateur and professional artists.

Also, don't miss Meet the Artist Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 18 along Oak Park Avenue. Greet the bench creators and pick up a game card to play along and win prizes! Then, stick around to hear Sean and Charlie play Irish and party rock tunes at the first Music in the Plaza concert from 7 to 10 p.m. in Zabrocki Plaza!

Downtown Tinley Park: Farmers' MarketWhen: Saturdays | 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. | June 4 to October 8

Visit the Downtown Tinley Farmers Market from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays beginning June 4 through October 8 for the best selection of fruits, vegetables and fresh flowers.


Downtown Tinley Park: Cruise NightsWhen: Tuesdays | 5 to 9 p.m. | June 7 to August 30
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue near 171st Street and the Metra station

Enjoy this classic car show with no entry fee. First come, first served. Food and beverages are sold. Music provided by a DJ. Cruise Nights are sponsored by the Tinley Park MainStreet Commission and presented by Tinley Park V.F.W. Post 2791.


Downtown Tinley Park: Music in the PlazaWhen: Select Saturdays | 7 to 10 p.m. | June 18 to Sept. 10
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave. (adjacent to the Oak Park Avenue Metra station)

Enjoy a wonderful evening listening to music under the stars during the 2016 Music in the Plaza series. Food and beverages will be sold by some of your favorite Tinley Park establishments.

Downtown Tinley Park: Caribbean Beach Block PartyWhen: Noon to 7 p.m.  |  Sunday, July 17, 2016
Where: Along Oak Park Avenue from 171st to Hickory streets

The 18th annual Caribbean Block Party will feature live music on two stages, free activities for the whole family, a mini-Taste of Tinley Park, a classic car show, a sand sculptor, a bean bag tournament, rides and inflatables, KidZone activities and much more! Free trolley shuttles from the 80th Avenue train station to the event will be available.


Downtown Tinley Boo BashWhen: October 30, 2016
Where: Oak Park Avenue train station, 6700 South St.

The annual Downtown Tinley Boo Bash is great fun for families with young children. Some of the free activities include hayrides, a costume contest, trick-or-treating with local businesses, Halloween-themed games, DJ entertainment and more.


Downtown Tinley Park: Holiday MarketWhen: Dec. 2 through Dec. 4, 2016
Where: Oak Park Avenue Metra train station, 6700 South Street (south parking lot)

Stroll into the cozy warmth of our large, heated tent and shop for unique handmade crafts and creations. Enjoy tasty treats and live music by local groups and entertainers. Children will have fun making holiday crafts, writing letters for the soldiers and cookie decorating.


Downtown Tinley Park: Tree Lighting CeremonyWhen: Friday, Dec. 2, 2016
Where: Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park

Village officials will light the magnificent 35-foot community holiday tree. Arrive early for a sing-a-long to holiday music at 5:30 p.m.


Downtown Tinley Park: Toyland ParadeWhen: Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016
Where: 175th Street to Zabrocki Plaza

Tinley’s Toyland Parade celebrates the official arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Our special guests will arrive at the Oak Park Avenue Metra train station immediately following the conclusion of the parade. Children are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift for persons of any age, to be donated to a local charity. A collection center will be located near the Holiday Market.


Parade of Lights

When: Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016
Where: Viewing area at 177th Street along Oak Park Avenue

The Parade of Lights includes festive floats, vehicles, local businesses, community groups and school bands displaying the spirit of the season. Our guests from the North Pole will be making a special appearance.


Downtown Tinley Park: Holiday MarketOld-fashioned carriage rides: Horse-drawn carriage rides through historic downtown Tinley Park will take you back in time.

Ice carving demonstration: Watch fantastic frozen sculptures being created right before your eyes at Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave.

Carousel ride: Children can enjoy a free ride on a carousel and other attractions at the Oak Park Avenue Metra train station.

Holiday movies: Take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and enjoy classic, family-friendly movies, popcorn and activities a Old Zion Landmark Church, 6727 W. 174th St., Tinley Park.

Photos with Santa: Santa and Mrs. Claus will be inside the train station to visit with children. Receive a complimentary photo along with a gift from the North Pole. Santa’s visitors are encouraged to bring a nonperishable item to be donated to a local food pantry.

Campfire and S'mores: Stop by the campfire and enjoy some S'mores just south of the Oak Park Avenue train station and Holiday Market.


Downtown Tinley Park: St. Patrick's Day ParadeWhen: 2 p.m.  |  March 2017
Where: Beginning at Central Middle School, 18146 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park

Enjoy this family-friendly event along Oak Park Avenue in Downtown Tinley. Come out and see floats, community groups, local schools and businesses. Enjoy delicious Irish fare and fun at the many Downtown Tinley restaurants.


Bunny HopWhen: Noon to 3 p.m.  |  March 2017
Where: Oak Park Avenue Metra train station, 6700 South Street

This event is held the Sunday before Easter and features a visit from the Easter Bunny! Come out to have your photo taken with the big guy himself! Please bring your own camera


Downtown Tinley Park: Bridal ShowcaseWhen: 2017
Where: Tinley Park Bremen Post VFW, 17147 S. Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park
